• Account information: when you create a member account, we collect your name, email address, password, date of birth, gender, and an avatar name and image you choose.
• Optional profile details: you may choose to provide additional information such as a phone number or mailing address.
• Personality test responses: if you take our personality and compatibility assessments, we store your answers and resulting scores so we can show you your results and compatibility matches.
• Contact and volunteer forms: when you contact us or sign up to get involved, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
• Donations: when you donate, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive confirmation of your donation and basic donor details (such as name and email) for receipts and acknowledgment.

Information collected automatically

• Approximate location: with your permission, the app may use your approximate location (such as your country and general coordinates) to show relevant content and matches. We do not track your precise movements.
• Usage and log data: like most services, our servers automatically record basic technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, and pages visited, which we use for security and to keep the Services running.
• Cookies and sessions: we use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide the features of the Services, including personality test results and compatibility matching.
• To process donations and send receipts and acknowledgments.
• To respond to your messages, questions, and volunteer inquiries.
• To send service-related emails. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
• To protect the security and integrity of the Services and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Services, and only as needed:

• Stripe — donation payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy).
• Google reCAPTCHA — spam and abuse prevention on our forms (Google Privacy Policy).
• Email delivery providers — to send account and service emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our organization, our members, or others.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services and meet legal and accounting obligations (for example, donation records). You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing info@makechoice.org. We will delete your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights
