Oh man, do I get that. It’s like your brain suddenly decides to throw a party where the only guest is you, and the playlist is all your worst-case scenarios. Here’s the thing: when someone goes quiet, our minds tend to fill that silence with stories. And not the fun kind—usually the "what did I do wrong?" or "they must be mad at me" kind. But nine times out of ten, it has nothing to do with you. People get busy, distracted, tired—life happens. What helps me is catching myself in that spiral and asking: "Is there actual evidence for this story I'm telling myself?" Usually, there isn’t. Then I try to shift my focus to something else—a walk, a good book, even just tidying up. It doesn’t fix everything, but it keeps me from feeding the overthinking monster. You’re not alone in feeling this way—so many of us do. But you can learn to quiet that noise a little bit at a time.
