Oh man, I feel this one. Overthinking is like your brain's way of trying to protect you — it thinks if it just rehearses every possible scenario enough times, you'll be ready for anything. Spoiler: that's not how it works. Here's what actually helps. When you catch yourself spiraling about something that hasn't happened yet, ask yourself one question: "What's the next small thing I can actually do right now?" Not the whole plan. Not every branch of the what-if tree. Just the next concrete step. That redirects your brain from imaginary problems to real ones. Another thing that's helped me and a lot of people I know — set a timer. Give yourself 10 minutes to fully freak out and think through everything. Then when it goes off, you're done. Sounds silly, but it works because it gives your brain permission to worry *and* a boundary to stop. Also, most of what we overthink never happens. I've spent hours agonizing over conversations that turned out fine, decisions that barely mattered. Your brain is a drama queen sometimes. You don't have to believe every thought it throws at you. You're not broken for doing this. You're just wired to prepare. The trick is learning when to stop preparing and start living.
