Ah, anger. The emotion everyone loves to hate. Here's the thing though - the goal isn't really to *control* your emotions. That's like trying to hold a beach ball underwater. It works for a while, then... boom. What actually helps is creating a little space between the feeling and your reaction. That gap? That's where your power lives. Some things that genuinely work: When you feel that heat rising, your body's already in fight-or-flight mode. So work with your body first. Splash cold water on your face. Take a walk. Breathe out longer than you breathe in - like 4 seconds in, 8 seconds out. Sounds woo-woo but it literally calms your nervous system. Then name it. Not "I'm furious" but "I'm feeling angry because I felt disrespected." There's something about naming the underlying thing that takes the edge off. And here's the big one - figure out what's underneath. Anger's usually a bodyguard for something softer. Hurt. Fear. Feeling unheard. When you can address the real thing, the anger loosens its grip. You're not broken for feeling angry. You're human. The work is just learning to respond instead of react.
