Evan Low and the LGBT caucus

Back in June, the California LGBTQ caucus celebrated its 20 year anniversary. In the article from spectrumnews1.com, The caucus has come a long way since its creation back in 2002, the last year Former Gov. Gray Davis was in office. One of the caucus's earliest members, State Sen. John Laird was an assembly member when the caucus was created. He went over how when he was a county mayor, only ten politicians were openly out officials. Since the LGBT caucus, almost 1000 officials have been openly out. Not only have more public officials have come out, but the number of diversity has also grown as well. Even Low is proud of the progress the caucus has made but acknowledges there is still need to be done. Given how states such as Alabama, Florida, and Texas have enacted anti-lgbt bills into law, it is all the more reason the caucus should continue their agenda. Bottom line for viewers, Has there truly been progress with support of the LGBTQ community or can more be done?
