Pay yourself first

If spending happens first, the asset pile gets what is left, which is often nothing. Move a set amount toward assets when money arrives. Then live on the rest.

The amount can be small. The order is the lesson. Paying everyone else first trains the pile to stay empty.

Use it. On the next payday, move the set amount first, before the bills and the wants. Keep the amount one you can repeat.
