Mind your own business

Your job pays the bills. That work belongs to the employer’s business. Yours is the pile you own: savings aimed at assets, a side skill, something that can be sold again.

Grow that pile on purpose, even while the job covers the rent. Confusing the paycheck with the pile is how the years pass with nothing of your own.

Use it. Separate one account, or one list, for what you own. Add to it on purpose. Do not mix it with spending money.
